Alice home world was destroyed by the Celestials, a simple casualty in one of their many wars. Celestials would not normally disturb planets teeming with life, but this sector of the galaxy was never reported to hold any and therefor any destruction was of no concern. Planets form and disappear all the time in the eyes of immortals. However one particular planet was secretly handcrafted by a young Celestial who had been experimenting with it for generations.
The Celestial had grown deeply attached to her illegal creation and didn't want her efforts to fully vanish, even though that would have been for the best. And so her favorite creation was plucked from the surface, saved in just the nick of time before the planet was turned into nothing but debris in the cosmos. The young Celestial knew it wouldn't take long before the others found out what she had done, all the strict rules broken and warnings ignored in order to create what she had, and her last rescued remnant would be turned back into cosmic essence from once she was created. The Celestial would not allow that to be her last creation's fate. In a hurry she equipped her creation with a celestial conduit, one that would be leagues too strong for mere mortals. This would ensure her powers never dimmed and always stayed as strong as possible. It would also grant her nearly limitless cosmic essence to use freely, most importantly to jump between worlds in order to hide from the other Celestials. The conduit was disguised as a simple collar which would blend in on most worlds she visited. |
There was no time for the young Celestial to give her creation proper instructions or training on how to use essence, but before she was cast out into the cosmos she was given a peculiar task; an elusive fox was hopping from planet to planet causing chaos and disarray. If she wished to see her creator again she had to set things right, simply find this fox and put a stop to his mayhem. Why it was so important, she was never told.
The young Celestial embraced her beloved creation one last time, before pushing her through a portal. And so she was flung across the galaxy, left to fend for herself and find her way alone. Not wanting to let her creator down, and desperately wanting to reunite with her again one day, Alice stayed true to her task. Finding the sly fox took her a very long time the first time around, but once she locked on to his scent, his presence left all over the galaxy, finding him was only a matter of time. In her travels she often seem to come across creatures in need of aid and, feeling some kinship for those who have suffered like herself, she does her best to right any wrongs in any way she can. Even if her heart is in the right place, Alice's naïve kindness can easily bring trouble upon those she tries to help. Her conduit for one is always draining essence from her surroundings, staying in place for too long could bring more harm than good. Being a creature born of experimental force and not by nature also doesn't help matters. Alice isn't perfectly balanced, her inexperienced celestial creator tried to merge different essence of species to replicate shape shifters, but had instead ended up with dual-minded creatures battling for control. In Alice's case she was paired with dragon essence, a volatile and resentful creature hellbent on seeing the worlds burn for not getting its way.. Luckily most of Alice is fox which makes it harder for her dragon self to surface and take over, but it does still happen if she lets her guard slip. Alice is a highly intelligent creature but she was not given the ability of speech, she can make yips and mimic most fox noises but usually she remains quiet. Fun fact; she can also purr! For some funny reason that does seem to have a calming effect on most beings in the galaxy. |
