LoreAs the protector of life Volera roam the galaxy far and wide shielding planets from an untimely demise, relocating systems away from dark stars or celestial conflict. No matter whatever planet gaze upon the night sky; Volera's constellation is always there, looming far above with the ever watchful third eye shining brightly. The countless planets all have different tales about Volera. Some might say that "she is the mother to us all, watching us every night to make sure we behave" while other planets think "he have found his next feast and is now watching over us to make sure no one else lay waste to his priced possession". No matter which ever version is told they all share the same principal, every planet knows this constellation and the protection it, in one way or another, brings with its presence.
Being a celestial Volera can feel the praise mortals give them and unlike other celestials, who would block it out in order to focus on their given task, Volera welcome the love and attention, sometimes staying close to a star, listening to what the mortals have to say about the protector. Over the eons Volera have grown so attached to mortals that, like a loyal guard dog, Volera would jump into fire to protect them. They've grown more distant to other celestials and the only time their paths cross is when Volera is saving an inhabited system from yet another one of the celestial's battles. They have no care for the fragile life I was created to guard, so why should I care for them. With how frequent conflict happen and Volera can only be at one end of the galaxy at a time, casualties happen. Way too often. Volera have grown to loathe most of the celestials and become rather violent whenever some get too close to one of their beloved star systems. Some mortals have witnessed first hand of Volera's vicious protectiveness, leading those planets to see the constellation as twisted and ferocious, the true meaning of Volera's nature lost to them. |
DepictionVolera is a great hound, originally a borzoi, have been depicted as any and most types of canines throughout the centuries, but they all follow a common theme of appearance.
Most often told as female with slim body, long legs, thin whip-like tail and narrow face. The entire body is formed of dark matter with stardust captured inside. The stars she was born from are all part of her, dark matter swirling around and close but never touching. Nose, claws and paws are brightly white, and so is her maw and everything from the teeth, gums, tongue, saliva, to blood if she had that. The eyes are a cold blue and almost looks like small dim stars. Her "third eye" is her main star and source of her life, it rests embedded in her forehead and is brightest of all. It is told she can gaze into the cosmos with it and see every living soul where ever they are. |
